Railing and baluster access: Stair railings and balusters must be cleaned in coordination with the stair surface — cleaning stairs without addressing the railings leaves the surfaces that occupants grip when navigating wet stairs still contaminated.

Material variety: Florida stairways incorporate a range of materials — concrete treads, natural stone treads, wood, brick risers, painted surfaces — all of which have different pressure tolerances. A single approach doesn't work; each material section requires the appropriate pressure, tip, and technique.
